The Deputy Governor of Bari Region Mr. Mohamed Dalmar Bile has issued a statement condemning the recent terrorist attack that was targeted by Mr. Mohamud Ali Nur, the director of HIDA (Horn of Africa Integrated Development Activities), leaving him survived and injured his driver in the village of Timirshe, Bari Region, Somalia. The governor emphasized that the government strongly rejects all forms of violence and extremism, which have no place in their society or government.
Mr. Bile has reiterated that attacks against humanitarian workers and civilians are completely unacceptable and go against fundamental human principles. He emphasized the importance of all parties respecting the rules of human rights and ensuring that humanitarian workers are protected while they carry out their vital work.
The Bari regional administration stated that the regional police command will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and will ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
The Bari regional administration offered their condolences to humanitarian workers, particularly the HIDA organization, following the unfortunate incident targeting their executive director, Mr. Mohamud Ali Nur. He urged them not to be discouraged from their noble work promoting peace, stability, and human rights in the region.
Finally, Mr. Bile was encouraged them to continue their tireless efforts to support the people and vulnerable communities affected by various challenges, including drought, inflation, flood, COVID-19, locust spread, conflicts, terrorism and humanitarian crises.
